Farmers protest in Bengaluru over proposed water release to Tamil Nadu

Farmers' groups, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, and BJP leaders held a protest at J.C. Veedhi in Bengaluru on Thursday. They protested against the Kaveri Water Control Board's recommendation to release 4,000 cusecs of water daily from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu for the next 15 days. Protest leaders demanded that the release of Kaveri water to Tamil Nadu be stopped. Farmer leader Shivaalli Chandrashekhara stated that the Kaveri reservoir has insufficient water and that the existing water is only enough for drinking purposes.
