Ex-Speaker Basavaraja Horatti questions ministers' attendance and note-taking during special session on drought

During a special session discussion on drought, former Vidhana Parishad Speaker Basavaraja Horatti questioned the ministers' attendance and noted that the Minister for Animal Husbandry and Silk, C. Puttarangashetty, was reportedly sleeping in the house. Horatti questioned if the ministers were attending the session to sleep or to take notes. He also reminded Dr. Yatindra Siddaramaiah, the presiding officer, that there is a system for ministers and concerned officials to note down key points during the discussion. Following this, the Deputy Speaker Umashri intervened, advising the ruling party to follow Horatti's suggestions and inform the ministers by having them note down points during the discussion. The session concluded with the Speaker, Saleem Ahmed, instructing Yatindra to ensure the attendance of ministers and directing the Chief Secretary to suspend absent officials.
