‘Equality must be a value upheld in life’

At a women-directed 'Aval Hejje Kiruchitra 2026' re-screening and discussion held on Thursday, Prof. Vijaya Korishteti, Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University, stated, 'When we ignore the voice of women, it is our duty to bring it to the attention of society. Equality must be a value upheld in life, not just a word.' The event was organized in collaboration with the Gubbivani Trust in Bengaluru, under the Advanced Women's Study, Research and Extension Centre, Journalism and Communication Department, Undergraduate Division, of the university. Shantala Damle, Director of 'Aval Hejje' from Gubbivani Trust in Mandya, also spoke.
