Environmental activists continue legal fight against tree felling in Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Colony

Environmental activists have continued their struggle against the proposal to cut hundreds of trees in the Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Colony. The matter is scheduled for hearing in the High Court on Tuesday. According to Parashurama Gowda, General Secretary of 'Parisara Kkaagi Naavu' (For the Environment We), the issue is not limited merely to the number of trees that can be cut. The activists questioned why the green area in the city center should be used for commercial development when alternative locations are available.
