Elevated flyover construction begins on Bannerghatta Road, increasing traffic congestion
The Bengaluru Development Authority started the four-lane elevated flyover construction from the Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Quarters (KVV) to Mekhri Circle on Friday. Traffic congestion has increased significantly, with vehicles frequently using Bannerghatta Road to reach the Kempegowda International Airport instead of the alternative routes suggested by traffic police. Traffic snarls are reported across areas like Science Gallery, Veterinary College, and CBI Quarters. The construction work has led to vehicles getting stuck for over half an hour at the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th cross roads connecting R.T. Nagar, Hanti Layout, and Anandanagar to Bannerghatta Road. Commuters traveling through Hebbal Flyover to the city via Guṭṭalli Main Road, Sankey Road, and Armane Road may face delays of over an hour.
