Election system is pushing politicians towards corruption: Siddaramaiah

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated on Thursday that real change in society is not possible without comprehensive election reforms. Speaking at a program commemorating the birthday of former CM J.H. Patel in Bengaluru, he noted that due to the increased influence of money, caste, and liquor in today's elections, it is difficult for honest, poor, intelligent, and social service-oriented individuals to enter politics. He stated that the current election system itself is pushing politicians towards corruption.
