Discrepancy found in LPG cylinder weights across Karnataka; 25% of cylinders found with reduced gas

The Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs conducted 'Mission Nikhara' checks across the state to ensure accurate LPG supply to consumers. During the September 24 operation, discrepancies were found in the weight of cylinders checked across 17 LPG bottling units. Of the 382 cylinders checked, 25% were found to contain less gas than the declared amount. The operation resulted in 3 cases of rule violation and a total fine of ₹79,000.
