Discrepancy between actual and MRP of medicines in private hospitals confirmed: Minister U.T. Khadar

Health Minister U.T. Khadar stated that a review conducted by department officials confirmed a large difference between the actual price and the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of medicines in private hospitals. He noted that the cost of medicines, cancer drugs, and antibiotics supplied to hospitals across the state, compared to the MRP, showed a significant variation. Khadar stated that the department has written to the central government regarding 253 medicines showing price discrepancies and requested that both the actual price and MRP be displayed on patient bills.
