Demand for Stay Order in Supreme Court and Meeting with CM DK Shivakumar
At the Valmiki Mahasasthana Gurupitha, Prasannanananda Puri Swamiji urged swift action to file a stay order in the Supreme Court against the High Court's order that revoked the 6% reservation increase for SC/ST. He also requested that a pan-party delegation be formed to meet the Prime Minister for increased reservation. The delegation, comprising the Minister for Social Welfare T. Raghumurthy and the Minister for Public Works Satish Jarakihole, met Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Wednesday and submitted the request. Swamiji stated that experienced lawyers should be appointed to argue the stay order in the Supreme Court, and the recruitment processes should be carried out based on the 56% reservation implemented by the previous government.
