Demand for Kannada Medium Education and Changes to State Awards Raised at Bengaluru Literary Conference

A demand was raised at the 17th Bengaluru Urban District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to scrap the bilingual medium policy in primary and middle school education. Attendees urged the state government to implement only Kannada or mother tongue medium education. The conference also called for the annual State Award to be given to Kannada advocates or those who have rendered significant service in the Kannada movement.
