D K Shivakumar's 'two marriages' remark sparks political debate in Bengaluru Assembly

During a debate on the drought situation on Thursday evening, Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar told the Assembly that at least a dozen lawmakers have two marriages because they wanted to live in Bengaluru. Senior BJP lawmaker S Suresh Kumar criticized the statement, stating that making such a statement from the Assembly floor does not bring dignity. Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka also urged Shivakumar to disclose the names of MLAs who have two marriages.
