CM and Opposition Discuss Drought Relief, Farmer Loans in Bengaluru

Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara announced that every farmer will receive financial aid of ₹2,500 to reduce agricultural production costs. He stated that the government decided to provide this aid to farmers in drought-affected areas, expecting funds from NDRF. Parameshwara also announced the extension of loan repayment periods for farmers in severely drought-affected areas to 60 months and in moderately drought-affected areas to 36 months. Opposition leaders criticized the government's response, demanding the declaration of a 'National Disaster' and calling for the central government to send a team for drought study.
