CM DK Shivakumar urges all MLAs to speak with unity on the state's stand on 'Varadi'

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar requested all MLAs to speak with unity, setting aside party differences, to effectively present the state's stand on 'Varadi' at the central government level. He stated that the state government has been raising objections to various drafts of eco-sensitive areas since 2004, and has informed the center about the cabinet decisions in 2021, 2022, and 2024, noting that six draft notifications have been rejected. He added that protecting the Western Ghats environment, biodiversity, river sources, and wildlife like black leopards and elephants from Shivamogga is the government's commitment.
