Bengaluru citizens may volunteer for waste management, minister says

Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda proposed that Bengaluru citizens could volunteer to strengthen the city’s door-to-door waste collection system. He spoke at a consultation meeting on solid waste management organized in the city on Thursday. Gowda also mentioned that the plan to induct a new fleet of garbage collection vehicles might be delayed in some constituencies. He stated that the fee for bulk waste was the upper limit, and he had requested vendors to charge not more than Rs 6 per kg.
