BMTC faces financial crisis amid 'Shakti' scheme; employees question salary payment

The KSRTC workers' union expressed concern that the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is facing severe financial difficulties due to the state government's 'Shakti' scheme. The union alleged that BMTC is struggling to pay salaries this month and that over 1,000 employees' gratuity payments are pending since 2023. BMTC's Managing Director, Raghunandan Murthy, stated that the upcoming salary will be paid without any issue.
