BESCOM reports ₹293.62 crore profit for 2025-26

The Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) earned a profit of ₹293.62 crore in the 2025-26 financial year. During the 144th board meeting of BESCOM, held under the chairmanship of Energy Minister K.J. George, the financial performance and factors contributing to the profit for 2025-26 were discussed. K.J. George praised BESCOM for achieving profit, attributing it to increased revenue, proper management of electricity purchases, reduction in expenditure, and adherence to financial discipline. The company's Managing Director, Dr. N. Shivashankar, noted that accurate billing systems and the use of probe reading systems increased billing accuracy, helping detect and record an additional 100 million units of usage.
