BESCOM to Discontinue Free Electricity Subsidy for 1.42 Lakh Beneficiaries After Re-verification

BESCOM completed the long re-verification and survey of the Gruha Jyothi free electricity scheme beneficiaries over the last four months. During the survey, 1.42 lakh beneficiaries reportedly refused to participate in the verification process. Consequently, BESCOM officials are preparing to officially exclude these 1.42 lakh individuals from the scheme.
