Greater Bengaluru Authority Commissioner M. Maheshwara Rao has issued strict instructions to Marshals regarding the use of AI technology to detect garbage and other issues on Bengaluru roads. The AI camera survey was conducted on 150 km of arterial and sub-arterial roads within the GBA area, which has a total of 311 km such roads. The survey, done in collaboration with Chitragupta Urban Technologies, can automatically identify block spots, potholes, footpath encroachments, building waste, unauthorized optical fiber cables, and street light issues. The system has created a total of 2000 tickets, including about 1000 tickets related only to garbage and garbage block spots, which the Commissioner has set a 10-day deadline for Marshals to close.
