Accused who shot ASI at Rajasanthi area escapes police custody in Bengaluru

An accused who shot an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Rajasanthi area of Amruthasara has escaped police custody. The accused, Karanth, was initially arrested by police following the shooting incident on September 11 against ASI Jaswant Singh. Police were taking the weapon recovered from the accused's hiding spot in Majitha area on the night of September 23 when Karanth escaped. Following this incident, senior police officials, including SSP Convulpreet Singh Chahal and SHO Inspector Guruprith Singh, were suspended. Police have not disclosed how the accused escaped.
