Accused arrested for defrauding vehicle owners in Bengaluru

Bengaluru Police arrested accused Guruprasad (44) for allegedly selling vehicles to third parties at higher prices after taking them as collateral from owners with outstanding loans. The accused was reportedly introducing himself to owners facing difficulties in repaying vehicle loans. He would provide an advance of ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh, assuring them that he would repay the loan, and would take the car as collateral. Police stated that he would then sell the same car to others for ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh without repaying the loan or informing the owners.
