Absence of Officials in Legislative Council: Speaker Orders Suspension

The Speaker of the Legislative Council, Saleem Ahmed Taqitu, stated that officials who must attend the session should be suspended if they fail to appear. This statement was made during the proceedings on Wednesday, as ministers and officials required to be present in the house were not in full numbers. JDS's.L. Bhojegowda raised objections, urging the Speaker to call the ministers and officials to the house. K. Shivakumar of Congress also pressed the Speaker, stating that the Chief Secretary had not visited the Council even after three days of the session starting, and demanded that the Chief Secretary be called to the house.
