8,700+ BS-3 Buses Still Operating in Karnataka's Transport Fleets, BMTC Identified as Sole Operator to Retire Them

According to official data submitted to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), 8,786 out of a total of 25,996 buses operated by the four state transport corporations (SRTC) are still BS-3 models. BMTC is noted as the only corporation to completely withdraw all its BS-3 buses from service. BMTC's total fleet of 6,929 buses includes 1,779 electric buses, representing 25.67% of the total fleet.
