Over 1,100 trees face the axe for Bengaluru's Hebbal tunnel

As many as 1,128 trees are proposed to be felled for the 2.3-km tunnel road at Hebbal, part of the plan to decongest Airport Road. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) issued the proposal, which is being challenged in the High Court of Karnataka. The underpass will connect Hebbal Junction with the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) staff quarters via the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU).
